Agents

Create and manage agents

Create a new agent in Nuteq AI: click New agent, answer the setup questions, then manage it from the Agents list or its editor page.

Each agent is a separate AI receptionist. It has its own instructions, voice, phone number, and settings. You create an agent with a short setup wizard. You manage it from the Agents list or its editor page.

Before you start

Have these ready: your business name, your website, and the language and voice you want. The wizard also asks your business type. Nuteq AI uses your answers to write the first instructions and pick a matching voice. You can change every answer later in the editor.

A business with one location needs one agent. That agent answers your calls and texts. It also makes the calls for your outbound campaigns. You choose the purpose of each campaign. When someone calls back a number that a campaign called from, the same agent answers. It greets them like any caller and helps them or takes a message.

A business with several locations, brands, or departments can create one agent for each. Each agent keeps its own instructions, phone number, and channels.

Create an agent

  1. Open Agents in the sidebar and click New agent. This starts the same wizard as your first agent.
  2. Answer the questions about your business name, website, business type, language, and voice.
  3. Wait for Nuteq AI to set up the agent. Then open it and review what it says.
  4. To rename it, click the agent's name at the top of its editor page and type a new name. It saves at once.

Can the same agent make calls too?

Yes. You do not choose between an agent that answers calls and an agent that makes calls. To call a list of contacts, create a campaign. Choose this agent as the Calling Agent and set the purpose of the campaign. See Create and run a campaign.

Best practices

  • Name each agent for what it does, such as the location or department it answers for. Your team can then tell agents apart in the Agents list.
  • Review a new agent's instructions and test it with a call or chat before you point a real phone number or channel at it.

Troubleshooting

If a new agent stays in the provisioning state, wait a minute and refresh the Agents list. If it is still not ready, see Common problems or contact support.

Frequently asked questions

How many agents can I create?
Nuteq AI does not limit the number of agents on an account. A business with several locations or departments often uses one agent for each.
Do I need one agent for inbound calls and another for outbound calls?
No. One agent answers calls and makes the calls for your campaigns. When someone calls back a number that a campaign called from, the same agent greets them and helps them or takes a message.
Can I rename an agent later?
Yes. Click the agent's name at the top of its editor page and type the new name. It saves when you click away.
