Agents
Test your agent
Test your AI agent with a browser call or a text chat, before or after you publish. You do not need a phone number.
You can test an agent from the dashboard. Talk to it with your computer's microphone, or text it. You do not need a real phone call. Test before you connect a phone number, or after you change the instructions.
Before you start
You can test with or without publish permission. An account with view access can run test calls and chats. It cannot save or publish changes.
A voice test needs microphone access. Allow it when your browser asks.
Test the agent
- Open the agent. Find the Chat and Call your agent buttons at the top of the page.
- Click Call your agent for a voice conversation. Click Chat for a text conversation. Both run in your browser, not on a phone line.
- For a call, allow microphone access. Talk to the agent as a caller would. The transcript builds as you speak.
- To test changes you wrote but did not publish, open the Instructions tab and click Test draft. The test uses your draft. Real callers are not affected.
You can also start a test call or chat from the Agents list. Use the same options next to the agent's row. You do not need to open the editor.
Best practices
- Test after each important change to instructions, voice, or actions.
- Ask a few different questions that a real caller might ask. Do not test only the easy case.
- Test transfers and bookings on their own. They have a confirmation step that you should hear.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I test unpublished changes before they go live?
- Yes. In the Instructions tab, click Test draft. The call or chat uses your unsaved draft. Real callers do not hear it.
- Do I need a phone number to test my agent?
- No. The test call uses your browser's microphone and speaker. You can test before you connect a phone number or channel.
