Bring your own carrier
Bring your own carrier means connecting the phone provider you already pay for straight to Nuteq, an advanced setup best done with our support team.

In Nuteq, bringing your own carrier means connecting the phone provider or phone system you already pay for, such as a PBX or a service like RingCentral, Nextiva, or Zoom, directly to an agent instead of using a Nuteq-provided number.
How this differs from bringing a number
If you just want to keep using a phone number you already own, that's a simpler, separate flow. See Get or bring a phone number. Bringing your own carrier is for businesses whose calls already run through their own phone infrastructure and who want that infrastructure connected straight to Nuteq. The technical name for this kind of connection is a SIP trunk. See SIP trunk connection for what information your provider needs to give you.
Getting set up
Because every carrier and phone system is configured differently, we recommend working with support to set this up rather than doing it alone, so we can confirm calls are reaching your agent correctly before you rely on it.

Frequently asked questions
- Is bringing my own carrier different from bringing my own number?
- Yes. Bringing a number just points a number you already own at Nuteq, which most businesses use. Bringing your own carrier connects your whole existing phone system or provider directly, and is meant for businesses with more complex setups.
- Which carriers can I bring?
- Any phone system or provider that can connect over SIP, the standard way phone systems talk to each other over the internet, including PBX systems and providers like RingCentral, Nextiva, or Zoom.
