In Nuteq, bringing your own carrier means connecting the phone provider or phone system you already pay for, such as a PBX or a service like RingCentral, Nextiva, or Zoom, directly to an agent instead of using a Nuteq-provided number.

## How this differs from bringing a number

If you just want to keep using a phone number you already own, that's a simpler, separate flow. See [Get or bring a phone number](/docs/connections/phone/get-or-bring-a-phone-number). Bringing your own carrier is for businesses whose calls already run through their own phone infrastructure and who want that infrastructure connected straight to Nuteq.
