Upload a document
Upload a document to Nuteq from the Knowledge page by adding a Markdown or Word file so your agent can quote its content on calls and texts.

In Nuteq, uploading a document adds its content to your agent's knowledge base, so the agent can quote accurate details during calls and texts instead of guessing. You add one Markdown or Word file at a time from the Knowledge page, and Nuteq breaks the file into passages the agent can search during a conversation.
Before you start
Nuteq accepts Markdown files (.md or .markdown) and Word documents (.docx). Other file types are rejected before the upload starts, so save or export the file in one of these formats first. You can upload one file at a time, so repeat the steps below for each additional document. Only owners and admins can add knowledge. Other team members can see the list of sources but cannot upload, edit, or delete one.
Steps
First, open Knowledge from the dashboard and select the Upload file tab. Second, drag a Markdown or Word file into the box, or click it to browse for one on your computer. Third, check the file name and size that appear, then click Upload. Fourth, wait for the status next to the file to change from Uploading to Ready. Larger documents can take a few minutes to finish, since Nuteq has to read the file and index its content before an agent can search it.
Best practices
Keep each document focused on one topic, such as pricing or appointment policies, so the agent pulls the right passage for a given question. Use clear headings inside the document, because Nuteq keeps each heading section together as one searchable passage, and a well organized file gives better answers. When the real information changes, update the source itself rather than uploading a second file that says something different, since two documents with conflicting details can confuse which answer the agent gives.
Troubleshooting
If the Upload button stays disabled, the file type is likely not supported. Use .md, .markdown, or .docx instead. If the status shows Failed, open Check processing status to see what a failure means and how to retry it. Once a document shows Ready, connect it to an agent from Connect knowledge to an agent, since a source with no agent connected to it never gets used.
