Add text or an FAQ

Add an FAQ to Nuteq under Knowledge, or paste written text, to give your agent exact wording for hours, pricing, policies, or a common question.

By Nuteq TeamPublished 1 min read

In Nuteq, you add text or an FAQ under Knowledge when the information your agent needs doesn't already exist in a file or on a web page. Written text creates a new source you type or paste directly into Nuteq. An FAQ adds a specific question and the exact answer your agent should give, attached to a source that already exists.

Before you start

Decide which type fits what you're adding. Use written text for a block of information, such as your hours, pricing, or policies. Use an FAQ when a specific question needs a specific, word for word answer, and you want to be sure the agent doesn't paraphrase it. Only owners and admins can add either type; other team members can view what's already there.

Steps

First, open Knowledge from the dashboard and select the Write text tab. Second, give the entry a title, such as "Front desk hours", so you can find it again later. Third, type or paste the content into the box below the title. Markdown formatting is supported, and Nuteq needs at least 50 characters before it lets you continue. Fourth, click Create document once the page shows "Ready to create".

Add FAQ answers to an existing source

Click FAQ next to any source already in your Knowledge list to open its FAQ answers. Type the question a caller or texter might ask, then type the exact answer you want the agent to give, and click Add. You can edit or delete a question and answer pair at any time from the same dialog. Answers you approve from the Improve inbox also land here, so this is where you review and adjust them alongside any you added by hand.

Troubleshooting

If Create document stays disabled, check that both the title and the content are filled in and that the content meets the 50 character minimum. Once a text or FAQ source is ready, it still needs to be connected to an agent before that agent can use it; see Connect knowledge to an agent.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between writing text and adding an FAQ?
Writing text creates a new knowledge source from scratch, good for hours, pricing, or policies. Adding an FAQ attaches a question and its exact answer to a source that already exists.
Is there a minimum length for written text?
Yes. Nuteq needs at least 50 characters of content before it lets you create the document. The Write text tab shows how many more characters you need as you type.
Can I use Markdown formatting when writing text?
Yes. The Write text tab supports Markdown, so you can use headings and lists to organize hours, pricing tables, or policies the same way you would in a document.
