Campaigns
Choose what a campaign is for
To choose a campaign purpose, pick one of four ready choices or write your own, then edit the opening line and instructions your agent follows on each call.
In Nuteq, every campaign has a purpose, which is the reason your agent is calling. You choose the purpose when you create the campaign, and each choice comes with an opening line and instructions that you can edit before you launch.
What are the choices?
The question "What is this campaign for?" on the New campaign form offers five choices. Each one fills in an opening line and instructions for you, and each one needs a few details for every contact on your list, such as a first name.
| Choice | What the agent does | Details needed for each contact |
|---|---|---|
| Confirm appointments | Asks whether the person can still make their appointment. | First name and appointment time |
| Remind about appointments | Reminds the person of an appointment, and does not need an answer. | First name and appointment time |
| Follow up with leads | Calls people who showed interest and finds out what they need and when they want it. | First name and interest |
| Ask for feedback | Asks a few short questions about how something went. | First name and context |
| Something else | Uses the opening line and instructions that you write yourself. | First name, plus any detail you add to your text |
The form shows the same details in a box called "Details this campaign needs", and it tells you which contacts are missing one. For Follow up with leads, the interest is what the person asked about. For Ask for feedback, the context is a short description of what you want feedback on.
How does every campaign call begin?
Every campaign call opens the same way. The agent says it is an AI assistant calling for your business, and it asks for the person by first name. For example, the standard opening line for a dental office reads "Hi, this is the AI assistant for Smith Family Dental. Am I speaking with Maria?" In the Opening line box, the first name appears as a detail from your list, and Nuteq fills in the real name on each call.
The agent gives no reason for the call until the person confirms who they are. For example, it does not mention an appointment, a service, or a date to someone who has not yet said they are the right person. The opening line comes in English, Spanish, French, German, Urdu, Hindi, and Arabic, and Nuteq picks the one that matches your agent's main language. Your agent uses English when your language is not on that list.
How do I edit the opening line and instructions?
Select a choice and the Opening line and Instructions boxes fill in. You can change either box. To use something from your list in the text, such as an appointment time, place your cursor where you want it and select a detail under "Add a detail". If you edit the wording and later want the original back, select "Use the standard wording".
With "Something else", both boxes start empty. Write the opening line, which is the first thing your agent says when someone answers, and write instructions that explain what your agent should do on these calls. Any detail you add to your text becomes a detail every contact on your list needs.
What does the agent do when a call does not go as planned?
The rules below apply to every campaign call, whatever the purpose you chose.
- When the agent reaches the wrong person, it apologizes for the interruption, shares nothing about why it called, and ends the call. The contact's result shows Wrong person.
- When the person says it is a bad time, the agent asks when a better time would be, repeats it back, and ends the call. Nuteq notes what the person said in the Detail column for that contact where it can.
- When the person asks not to be called, the agent confirms they will not be called again and ends the call. The contact's result shows Asked not to be called, and the number goes on your do not call list. Read campaign results explains how to see which call caused it and how to remove a number.
- When a voicemail answers, what happens depends on your choice under "If someone's voicemail answers". The default is Hang up, and Create and run a campaign explains the choice.
What happens when someone wants to change or cancel an appointment?
Your agent cannot change a booking on a campaign call. When the person wants a different time, the agent asks which day and time would suit them better, repeats it back, and tells them the office will contact them to confirm the new time. When the person wants to cancel, the agent says it will pass the request to the office and that the office will confirm. The appointment stays as it is in your calendar until someone on your team changes it.
Both cases show up in your results as Asked to reschedule or Asked to cancel, with what the person said in the Detail column. Your team can filter the results by outcome, find those contacts, and make the change.
What if someone calls the number back?
People who call back a number your campaign called from reach the same agent. The agent greets them the way it greets any caller, and it helps them or takes a message. It does not guess why your business called.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a separate agent for outbound calls?
- No. One agent handles calls in both directions. What a campaign is for is set on the campaign itself, so you can use the same agent for your regular calls and for every campaign.
- Can my agent reschedule or cancel an appointment on a campaign call?
- No. It writes down the new time the person asked for, or the request to cancel, and tells them your office will confirm. Your team makes the change itself after reading the result.
- What does my agent say when it reaches the wrong person?
- It apologizes for the interruption, shares nothing about why it called, and ends the call. The contact's result shows Wrong person.
- What happens when someone asks not to be called again?
- The agent confirms they will not be called again and ends the call. Nuteq adds the number to your do not call list, and campaigns never dial it again until you remove it.
