# Fix incorrect answers

Fix incorrect agent answers in Nuteq by finding the knowledge source behind the wrong reply and correcting, replacing, or removing it.

In Nuteq, a wrong answer almost always traces back to a knowledge source that is outdated or unclear, since the agent only repeats what it can find and never invents details on its own. Fixing it means correcting the source itself, not the agent's prompt, so every future conversation uses the same corrected wording.

## Before you start

Find out which source the agent actually used before you start editing. Open the conversation under [Review a conversation](/docs/conversations/review-a-conversation) and check what it quoted, then look for a source with a matching name or topic in Knowledge. Only owners and admins can edit a knowledge source.

## Steps

First, open the conversation where the agent gave the wrong answer and see which source it used. Second, open Knowledge and find that source in the list. Third, replace the source with a corrected file, edit the matching FAQ answer, or delete it and add a corrected version with the right wording. Fourth, save your change so the agent uses the corrected wording the next time someone asks.

## Ways to correct a source

For a document or written text source, use Replace to upload a corrected Markdown or Word file under the same source, or delete it and create a new one with corrected wording under Write text; see [Update or remove a source](/docs/knowledge/update-or-remove-a-source). If a specific question keeps getting a bad answer, click FAQ next to the source and add or edit an exact question and answer pair instead; see [Add text or an FAQ](/docs/knowledge/add-text-or-an-faq). For a website, fix the page it's pulling from and import the site again, since Nuteq doesn't recrawl a site on its own.

## Troubleshooting

If the agent still gives the old answer after you fix the source, check that the corrected source shows Ready in Knowledge and is still connected to that agent; see [Connect knowledge to an agent](/docs/knowledge/connect-knowledge-to-an-agent). If the wrong answer came from a question nobody had added an answer for yet, that's a different situation, and your agent's improve inbox is the better place to teach it.
